Maurice Lamar : ウィキペディア英語版
Maurice Lamar
Cortlan Copeland (born October 11, 1995), better known as Maurice Lamar, is an American rapper from Columbia, South Carolina. He is currently signed to OVO Sound by rapper and co-founder, Drake. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, he graduated from Richland Northeast High School. From there he went to South Carolina State University for one year before transferring to the University of South Carolina for the rest of his college years. Before his musical career, he was involved in several sports including basketball, football, and lacrosse. The name Maurice Lamar was a self given name. The Lamar in his name was inspired by well known rapper Kendrick Lamar to symbolize him being a rapper, and the Maurice portion was thought of to add his own touch. Altogether it would eventually become a catchy name to go along with his distinctive rap voice. He first started recording on a poor conditioned mic which was given to him by his uncle who does music overseas in Germany. His influences are Drake, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Big Sean.
